My only complaint is the wait at the door. Once you finally make it to a table, everything will be great.

So I came here for dinner after visiting RHIT and I have to say that it was pretty good. I ordered the 11 oz Sirloin Steak medium cooked and thought it was awesome. The bread that they give you as an appetizer was sweet and good (maybe a little too sweet for my taste...). I honestly thought the seasoned rice and steak fries were too salty. Other than that...I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. The service may be a little slow and there might not always be tables, but it's understandable as there was a whole lot of people there today.

It is what it is. Decent prices for what you get. We had good chicken dishes, and the oven-roasted chicken was tender and yummy. The vegetable sides were not too enticing and the baked potato was well-cooked, but seemed like it was dipped in a salt vat. But for roadside food, better than the alternatives.

My 90 year old mother likes to eat here so we do ever so often. The 6 oz steak is always good. This is your average chain steakhouse so nothing out of the ordinary is to be expected.

This place needs to train their employees on how to grill steak. The food always tastes good but if you want a medium well steak you will never get it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant!TRH has never really been a favorite of mine. Always pretty good but usually hyped up a bit too much. This one was different. The staff make the difference. This particular location was like an episode of Cheers! Everyone treated you as a friend! The servers were always making sure we were well taken care of. The night I was there was a Tuesday but the place was packed. After just a short wait we were taken to a booth. Food came almost before we were ready, but not too soon for us to dig in. Everything was cooked perfectly! I'll be visiting this location again and maybe trying other TRH locations I had written off in the past hoping they have stepped up to this standard!

Great for the price you pay! On a scale of fancy steakhouse quality to your usual neighborhood diner, Texas Roadhouse probably falls right around the middle, or slightly to the right. While waiting for your meal, Texas Roadhouse offers a complimentary basket of heavenly buttermilk rolls served with cinnamon butter. Sometimes I feel like I come to eat here just because I crave these goodies. For my main entree, I ordered the 8 oz. medium-cooked sirloin steak with a cup of chili and steak fries. The steak was pretty delicious actually! It also came cooked just right - medium! You'd be surprised how many times I've paid for a supposedly expensive piece of steak that comes out overcooked. The chili was decent and the fries were... well they're fries, and I can't complain about that. Overall, a great meal for a decent price! Will be back again!

Texas Roadhouse is my favorite place to eat but I have to say this one is hit and miss. Sometimes we go there and it's really good with great service, and then other times the service is horrible. Last time I was there I ate my whole meal with nothing to drink, the waiter hardly ever checked on our table!

The wait on Friday night is consistently long, but the food is good and portion sizes are large. The prices are rather high too, but not completely unreasonable. The staff is very friendly :-)

My wife & I were finally able to go out for a very belated anniversary dinner. Only 6 weeks late, but who's counting. And a place we've enjoyed more than once seemed like a good place to go. Texas Roadhouse in Terre Haute has served me many meals over the years and have rarely disappointed. I used the call ahead seating since the place is always packed with a very long wait time. It worked beautifully as we only waited 5-10 minutes after checking in upon our arrival. Unfortunately that was the best part of our experience this time around. My wife ordered a steak and ribs combo. I tried to order prime rib and was told they were out. Okay, how about a porterhouse? Strike 2! Now how does a place whose business is steak run out of multiple selections in one night? Yes they were packed with a long wait as previously mentioned, but that is the norm, not an exception. So after settling for a 16oz ribeye we passed on an appetizer knowing from previous experience there would not be enough room within to contain it all. Besides those wonderful rolls with the flavored spread would be enough to keep our taste buds busy. My wife had a salad as well. Our orders arrived in a timely fashion. However my medium well ribeye was on the light side of medium. My wife's steak was fine, but the ribs were quite chewy. Not as good as she's previously had. The service wasn't what we'd come to expect either. Our server didn't seem to interested in tending to us. And where we were seated, a rather large crowd of employees were gathered very near us the entire time & a bit loud. We had trouble hearing each other while trying to converse during our meal. Overall our experience this time around wasn't what we'd come to expect. It was mediocre at best. If this had been my first experience there, I might have second thoughts about a return visit. I'll chock it up to an off night for them & hope the next time is as good as past visits.

I've been here several times over the past few years. Unfortunately the past few times have been disappointing. Upon our last visit, we used the call-ahead seating, yet still waited 15 minutes. Not too bad though. The host and waitress were pleasant. The atmosphere was busy and a little cramped. The noise level was moderately loud - not the most intimate setting for date night. Additionally, the seating seemed too close, almost as if they've tried to cram as many tables into the place as possible. Unfortunately this lends to a very crowded setting were you bump into something/someone often. They definitely have the whole cowboy, yee-haw thing down. I just wished the experience was something worth whooping and hollering about. The food was brought out in a timely manner but lacked so much in quality and taste. The chicken was coated in an awful rubbery, spongy "breading" that I nearly sent back ( which I've done once in my life). My wife's dish was sub par also. My guess would be that they've swapped quality for quantity. I don't like to be too critical though. My Caesar salad was good and the broccoli and carrots were great; steamed just right. Many places botch the veggies by stewing them until they're mush (nursing home food anyone?). These were spot on though. However, when a side order of vegetables is the highlight of the meal..., well you fill in the blank. The complimentary peanuts and rolls are nice but not enough to brag about. If this is how they do it in Texas, I'm content with the Midwest. It'll be a while until I give it another try. Hopefully someone will steer this lost cowboy back to the ranch.

For what it is it is! I am a server also so i understand the burn em and turn em concept. Our server seemed a bit more in a hurry to leave our table and pay attention to other tables and ignore us. Since tables are close together this was very noticeable!

Warm rolls delicious as usual. I ordered roasted chicken which was still pink. When I pointed it out to waitstaff and food manager, they were adamant that it was fully cooked. No apology, but they did deduct $6 from the bill. I chose to eat the sides I'd ordered (mashed potatoes and broccoli/carrots). The sides were good. I do recommend mashed potatoes. Just be aware the customer is NOT always right here.

Having the need to meet up with some family for my cousin's wedding in Terre Haute, the one thing that my wife and I knew we would not be able to avoid is bad food. It is, after all, a wedding that we were going to be attending, and secondly- in a place like Terre Haute, which has a seemingly endless strip of chain restaurants. It isn't that I am against chains, but the majority of these are the types of places that offer very little in terms of inspirational food. Highway 41 is void of all creativity. I mean no disrespect to Terre Hauteians (or is it Terre Hauters?), but I have had to stop on my way to my grandmother's house no fewer than 45 times in my life and have found that Arby's is just about the quintessential place to stop for "good eats" in the eyes of the fine folks of this small city. Just between you and me, I can share a little story for you... My father, who does not understand the meaning, let alone the virtues of being patient, detests this town. You see, driving from the Chicago area down to Evansville, his hometown and the place that my dear, yet neurotic grandmother lives to this day, essentially forces one to drive through Terre Haute. This alone is not a bad thing- but considering Highway 41 becomes a stop-and-go main thoroughfare for the entire town- chalk full of stop lights and long waits, it quickly evaporated any semblance of calm for my father. Things weren't helped in having three anxious kids cranky in the back of his compact car all shouting out different places they wanted to eat. A stretch of about three to four miles would sometimes take over an hour to get through due to traffic, a bathroom stop, a stop for gas, and to get a bite to eat. I believe the kindest name he had for Terre Haute was "the armpit of America," and said much worse about it here. Which is why my wife and I were surprised to see, almost directly across the street from our hotel for the weekend, that there was a Texas Roadhouse. Our first experience with Texas Roadhouse was with a group of French transplants who had recently moved to Toledo for work. When they announced that they had this great place for ribs and wanted to take us there, we had mixed feelings. What do the French know about BBQ? Either way though, we were looking forward to it. Pulling up to the building though we quickly realized that Texas Roadhouse had a business plan much more aligned with TGI Fridays than with a small BBQ joint. The Texas Roadhouse in Terre Haute really is no different than the one in Toledo in terms of looks and feel. That is the point of the business model though of a chain restaurant, right? In a way, this was comforting for us, since we were looking to get a good meal (and assumed that it would probably be our last until we got out of town), and we knew that there was one thing that we would love there. It is hard for me to say this because while I can't lay claim to being a BBQ expert, I can tell you that the ribs at Texas Roadhouse are the best I have ever had. Both here and in Toledo, I was very impressed! At least in terms of ribs, TR is consistent. I can't speak for anything else really. All I have ever gotten at TR, and all that I will probably ever try are their ribs. Perfectly cooked- falling off the bone, nice amount of bark, the sauce is sweet and tangy at the same time- and yet the meat is the star of the show. My respect for Terre Hauteians has grown. While they still continuously add chain after chain down 41, it is clear that they know when they have something good. Texas Roadhouse was packed full of people- almost an hour wait for seating, and I am sure most people were there for the same reason we were: those ribs. So next time you are in the area- probably at Boot City trying to round up a good deal on some new boots- be sure to make a stop here for the ribs. Sit back and be ready to wait a little bit. You will have plenty of peanuts there to keep you occupied!

Good place to eat. Call ahead or be prepared to wait. Parking can be a pain at times.

So, my standard for Midwest casual dining is hot food served fast with decent vegetables. TR was able to do that. So, four stars. Had the BBQ chicken dinner with green beans and fries under $10 (one of the early bird specials). Beans were quite good. Didn't taste like they had sat in a pot all afternoon. Bits of bacon didn't hurt. Healthy portion of chicken. Standard corn syrup-based bbq sauce. Steak fries were over salted, but crisp. Server was attentive. Seat was dirty with food crumbs when we were seated. I just flipped over the cushion. No big deal. Overall, I have to say the meal was a bargain. The complimentary sweet rolls with cinnamon butter are a nice bonus. This TR is well managed and stays quite busy. I would be happy to return.
